Day 83: Finishing the Palouse

We said our goodbyes to Jack and went to the ATM and grocery shopping which allowed us to see a bit of Ellensburg. I like it. We even rode through a bit of Central Washington University on our way out of town.

This section of trail along the Yakima River is really nice. We stopped in the town of Cle Elum for a burrito lunch at SeƱor Bones.

We chose Easton State Park for camping. While getting snacks at the store nearby we talked with Trevor and Bryan, two Canadian cyclists, riding to Beverly (we were there a few days ago) so we gave them some tips.

After finally crossing the ā€œPalouseā€, I decided to look it up. apparently it is French for ā€œland of thick, short grassā€œ (before it was farmed).
