Starting is sometimes the hardest part

We got notified that our plane was delayed 1.5 hours. We later found out that the plane crew needed their FAA required rest. My bike box was 51 pounds (1 pound over the limit) but Robbie at American let it slide and didnā€™t charge me extra. I paid $40. TSA didnā€™t confiscate anything that resembled a weapon. I put my spare spokes and even my spork and camp stove burner in my bike box.

I got that pit in my stomach feeling when I realized I lost my wallet. Luckily the plane cleaners found it but they need to Fedex it from Sacramento since thatā€™s where the plane went after PHX.

It took us about 45 minutes to assemble our bikes at the airport before we could ride the 6 miles to our hotel where Steve met us from his flight from Asheville. The only place open at 11pm was La Cantina in the Revere neighborhood of Boston. It was loud but tasty. Today we take the ferry to Provincetown (aka ā€œPtownā€).

Steveā€™s route in rush hour traffic took him by Revere Beach
