Gualala to Bodega Bay

We rode 47 miles today. We almost had to share our oatmeal with a raccoon, but Alex, another hiker/biker scared it away last night. Alex and his brother are biking back home to L.A. Alex is a rower at university of Washington. We ate a delicious breakfast sandwich at the old time general store in Stewart’s Point. We rode up and down the rollers on highway 1 to Jenner where Steve replaced his relatively new rear tire which suffered a failure in the sidewall. Good thing we anticipated this and had a spare foldable tire that we bought at REI in Seattle. When we rode into Bodega bay county campground, we discovered a busy site with 10 bikers and growing ( the biggest yet). At the suggestion of the ranger, we walked the half mile trail, which passed this “tower of bells” memorial on the way to Brisas del Mar restaurant.
