Day 2: Kreme de la Kremmling

Apparently my racer friend Dan stopped by our campground while we were sleeping and left me a treat in my helmet. A coffee flavored Gu packet. He passed us and is near Del Norte already.

We decided to filter our daily water from a stream near our campground. 4 liters should do it. We had some great scenery and fun water crossings and a stagecoach stop that was somewhat preserved and restored.

We met several people going the opposite way. A Canadian couple, a mother who’s son and friends were behind her. And don’t forget the random donkey on the trail.

We treated ourselves to a 4 person log cabin in Kremmling called Muddy Creek cabins. It has a lot more character than the Super 8 and a view of the Butte to boot.

Since we’re in beef country, we ate dinner at the Grand Ol’ West restaurant and met fellow cyclists who were full of stories especially bear attack stories.
