The Other Portland

I admit I was a bit biased when I chose “Mike’s Breakfast All Day” for our breakfast restaurant. But the blueberry pancakes were indeed delicious.

We rode thru several small towns and had lunch in Old Orchard Beach. It was a faded and tired tourist town that just closed for the season. No ice cream for me.

We met Charles who rode with us for a few miles and showed us his favorite beach. Thanks Charles.

Since we couldn’t find any campgrounds in or near Portland we decided to stay in a Hostel downtown. It reminded me of my first tour in 1985 when I stayed in youth hostels in Europe.

We visited a brewery and ate a nice Italian dinner.
