Day 14: The other Summerland

The route we originally chose was not good so we had to modify it a bit. We couldn’t resist stopping at the lake beach.

We first tried the provincial park but it was full which we didn’t expect for a Monday night. We proceeded on to Dickinson Family Farm in Summerland. Dwayne and his son Mike have kept it in the family since 1912. It’s a cherry orchard. We picked and ate a few since we slept underneath the tree.

We rode into Summerland for dinner at Giant Head brewing and then Gigi’s gelato.

Gordon Doble is our camping neighbor and offered to cook us bacon and eggs. He was a bull rider in Calgary back in the 1990s. He’s a super friendly guy.

We rode 31 miles from Kelowna to Summerland.

Now onto Thirsk Lake.
