We packed our wet tents and said goodbye to the mosquitos at the cabin and rode 33 miles on the dirt roads near Mabel Lake and 20 more on pavement. Since it was Saturday we saw a lot more boats and lake houses being used. We were thankful for no road closures.
More and more farms appeared as we got to the flatter lands. Lumby locals gave us suggestions to go to the Blue Ox for dinner. The lasagna was a hit but i tried the pirogies. It was conveniently located next to our campground. Cheryl, the host, was welcoming and told us a few good stories including a local marmot nesting under her hood.
The noise from a family reunion fortunately didn’t keep us from sleeping.
Tomorrow we ride to Kelowna and stay in a hostel.
