At least we started dry. It started raining as we were riding away from Revelstoke. The trans-Canada highway was busy. When we saw the opportunity to stop at the 3 Valley Gap (chateau) we took it. Lots of souvenirs and kitch but a dry place to wait out some rain. Jenna, one of the staff there was giving us advice on various routes in the forest. Including a hidden cabin that we might stop at if needed. With instructions like “right on the left you’ll see gopher tracks leading into the forest”. We shall see.
I was glad when we got off the busy highway and onto the dirt logging road. Sure enough at 19km marker was a trail leading to this cabin. Some of us slept in the cabin. I chose not to. Again we were able to hang our food bags from a nearby bridge. Max, the motorcyclist said it best…”sometimes adventures suck while you’re doing them” mosquitos and moisture were our enemy here but we got thru it.
Onto the next town called Lumby!
