Day 7: Lava Hot Springs

We said thank you and goodbye to our nice host Daphne and ventured into the farms and forests again.

At one of the remote homesteads, a local asked Bob and I for help pushing their stalled ATV (UTV) onto a trailer. I didn’t push very hard because that’s how I messed up my back last time.

After some super steep hills we climbed, we rode into the tourist town of Lava Hot Springs. It’s like Solvang with a river. Lots of shops and restaurants and tourists.

Brent and I rented tubes to float down the river. It was a good way to cool off for sure. Unfortunately somebody bumped into Brent and he went underwater and lost his hat.

We splurged and stayed at cheap motel to take showers and crank up the air conditioning.

We rode 23 miles with 2037 ft of climbing.

Next we ride into the wilderness again.

Thanks Daphne!
Sure…we’ll help
Nice pano view
The hard packed dirt/gravel is easy
