Day 20: Happy “BC day”

Rolly’s Restaurant was conveniently next to our Slumber Inn motel. The waitress was bracing for the holiday rush of BC day. Apparently lots of people go hiking and do other outdoor activities on BC day. It was established in 1974.

Carlos visited our fine motel and used our shower. He’s on a tight budget and plans on making his trip last for 2 years in North America and South America!

We noticed as we were riding out of town that there was a wooden statue carving of Rambo in the city park. Yes indeed, Rambo First Blood, was filmed here!

We diligently followed our pre-planned route even though it took us through a small jungle and across railroad tracks. We made it safely.

We made it to Chilliwack and visited the Old Yale Brewery for a tasty meal and beer while we arranged for a camping spot at the busy Vedder River campground.

We rode 40 miles today on our way to Vancouver. One more stop in Fort Langley tonight.
